The meeting was called to order at 7:45.

Treasures report has not changed from last month's meeting.

OLD BUSINESS

Steve wrote a letter expressing interest in a aeration system.

Harvest Boats both are out between Forsberg’s and Hancock’s. They felt that it would be easier to work on them there, than at Olson's. We still have to decide what to do with the rake boats. Dave motioned that we buy 2 motors. Brad seconded, the motion carried. Jerry will look into prices.

DNR is getting ready to work on the public access. Boat landing cement planks and rock have been delivered.

Picnic is set for August 16th. Meats have been ordered. Games are being worked on.

NEW BUSINESS

Dave's been taking secchi disk readings. We're at 1.5ft of clarity. Last year at this time we were at 1 foot. Steve said that we have been running parallel with like Rebecca.

Joe asked if anyone got a survey on the sewer project in the mail. Please fill them out and return right away.

Next meeting will be at Miller's on September 9th. Election of officers will be held. Please get nominations in ahead of time.

Del Hogan and Jim Robbins talked about the lake. Because of the abnormal temperatures, the water didn't stratify as early as normal and all of the treatment didn't activate. Now the thermal line is at 9ft so the treatment has finally activated except for the iron at 10 ft and over. They've taken samples from the lake and lab tested them against Lakes Trillium and Peavey. We are testing at everything the same. The phosphorus and chlorophyll levels have dropped. We should start seeing dramatic improvements when the water turns over.

The reason Martha turned so green is because we don't have stable plant populations like Trillium and Peavry. We have curly-leaf pondweed which dies about mid-June, sinks to the bottom and rots. All that has to be cycled out. There should be less and less of the curly leaf because there will be less nutrients next spring. Del said we shouldn't use herbicide on the curly-leaf because milfoil may grow where curly-leaf has been killed. We should just mechanically harvest it because that doesn't disturb the rooting areas.

People felt that the lake was a little better. There are less weeds, no odor, and the fishing's been good.

If we don't hit the seven foot clarity level by September 5th, Del feels we should wait longer before doing anything. His samples show that the iron hasn't been depleted. It's all still there, it just activated light, and putting chemicals wouldn't help because it wouldn't do anything helpful. He would like to rewrite the warranty and extend the second treatemt date. We decided to wait until September 5th to see what happens and then decide what to do at that meeting.

Brad motioned that the cost of the picnic you should be $12 for families & $5 for singles, then seconded, the motion carried. Andy will buy pop.

Dave motioned the meeting be adjourned, Laura seconded, meeting was adjourned at 9:40.
